Awhile back I blogged John's senior session, and now it was his cousin Ryan's turn. We added a little twist to it - the session turned into part family session, part senior session.
We strolled the park, found some fun areas to stop, and were able to mix things up with different combinations as we went along. It worked out perfectly.

John's mom and I used to work together back in my corporate days. A few years ago I photographed John's sister Allyson for her senior pictures. She was headed off to college way far away in Mobile, Alabama and didn't seem to have a worry in the world. Back then I distinctively remember wondering how she so easily had her act together - how self-assured she was. Then last week I met up with her brother John for his senior pictures. Soon enough he'll be headed off to Loyola University in New Orleans without a care in the world and his head squarely on his shoulders, just like his big sis. How on earth did John & Allyson's parents raise not 1, but 2 fabulous kids? They must have done something right along the way. I just hope I can do the same for my own babies.

I don't shoot many senior sessions. It's hard for me to photograph someone alone, unless they are a mere 6 weeks old. But since I've known Tyler since he was just 6 weeks old, I figured I could handle it. :) Very long story short, Jason, my very first best friend who lived down the street from me and later was the best man in my wedding, is Tyler's uncle.
I know the family members that molded this kid into the man he is today. Each hand held an important piece in Tyler's life puzzle. And while the puzzle is complete, Tyler's life, independently, is just beginning.
And that's what I discovered is cool about doing senior pics.
