The Moeller Family + baby-to-be

I just adore this family. Not just because we are friends, but because they are beautiful - inside and out. Seriously, their kids Maeve and Liam are genetic dreamboats and little fashionistas.

When I started editing and saw that this was my first shot out of the box, I knew I captured that beauty - inside and out.

And the exciting news? Bill & Maeghan are expecting another little baby boy!

Katie & Aaron | Maternity

Katie & Aaron - they're just a fun couple. A couple who truly enjoy each other and genuinely share in their laughter. They're the kind of people I could see having fun together no matter what they are doing - be it riding a roller coaster or doing their taxes. And in a few short weeks they are in for quite a roller coaster ride ...

Thanks Katie & Aaron for spending part of your day with me. Can't wait to hear that your little girl has arrived to join in your life of laughter.

The Bellew Family | Maternity

Back when I worked in the corporate world negotiating leases on office spaces, the group at work I always wanted to hang out with and be a part of were the designers. Oh how I love those creative types. They wore the cutest clothes, knew what to do with color, and damn did they know how to accessorize. It was like some special club of fun, fashionable people. I secretly wanted to be one of them.

Adrianne was one of those gals. And I loved working with her. She also got married at the same place I did, so I remember bonding over her wedding planning many years ago. Adrianne and Craig make an adorable couple and several years later, it's so great to see that same spark of love between them, especially now that they are expecting. :)

It was no surprise to me that the nursery Adrianne planned would be nothing short of spectacular. Her and Craig have chosen not to find out the sex of their baby, so no blue or pinks here. Like I said, Adrianne knows what to do with color ...

Their pregnancy has been a long time coming and it's refreshing to see them soak every last detail, every moment in. Gertrude (aka Gerty) on the other hand ... I'm not sure is ready to give up the limelight. She hopped right up here and waited for me to take her picture.

If Craig is even half the father as he is a husband, this kid will have hit the jackpot. I really don't think I have seen a father-to-be as excited as Craig.

Adrianne you are just beautiful!

Vogt Materntiy - Baby Ansley

I don't think Jillian knows if she's coming or going. In about the past year in a half, her and Ryan had their little girl Emerson, got pregnant with another baby girl, moved to the Kansas City area and months later (this week, in fact) moved back to St. Louis. Oh yeah, they moved while Jillian 35 weeks pregnant!

But that's Jillian. She's tough. She's determined. And although she may not always be convinced, I swear she can do anything.

Too bad big sister Emerson doesn't have much of a personality.

Since we did their maternity shoot before the moving truck arrived, I had an empty house to work with. Hooray! But that lime green room I loved when Jillian was pregnant with Emerson ...

Was now pink! :)

You talk about someone's belly enough, this is bound to happen ...

Andrea

I was sooooo excited because I got to do a session in my new stomping grounds of IL the other day. Problem is I haven't the slightest clue where any parks are. When I moved my top priority was just locating Target. Fortunately that was easy to find, and fortunately I had an awesome client who did my homework for me and found not just one great location, but two. Here's Andrea and her bun in the oven.

I had the best time hanging out with Andrea that day. When you shoot a family session there's usually a bit too much chaos going on to really have any kind of in-depth conversation. So it was a great change of pace to just be one-on-one with Andrea and really get to hear her story. How she met her husband Tim, how the Air Force has been such a strong influence their lives, those 3 reasons she joined the Air Force, the places they've traveled, and most importantly what this baby will mean to them after being married for 14 years. It really has been a wild ride for them and you could feel the energy of excitement for what is just around the corner. Finally.

Andrea scouted an area with a POW/MIA Memorial which of course fit with her and Tim's Air Force background.

Thanks Andrea for introducing me to a new part of town and for sharing just a bit of your story with me. I can't wait to meet your little guy and see the start of a new and exciting chapter for you and Tim. It's going to be yet another wild ride!

Becky & Dustin

Becky & Dustin had no idea what they were getting into when they met me. See, Becky received a gift certificate for maternity and newborn sessions as a shower gift. For all she knew I was some gal with a Kodak disc camera who thinks photography is "cool". For the record, I did have a disk camera as a kid and I still think photography is cool. But anywho ...

Becky & Dustin met up with me at Faust Park on a freakishly hot summer day. No worries for Becky even though she is due any week now. I, on the other hand, was winded, sweating and a tired mess. I no longer had the "I'm pregnant" excuse I used all 9 months of my pregnancy with Jake. Uh hello Becky, don't you know you get to use that excuse any chance you get?! She probably does know that, but she's just too calm, collected, and nice as can be. Her and Dustin truly make a great team.

 

Are you suuuuuuure you are due in only a few weeks?

I'm really weird because when I photograph a couple or babies or whatever a song usually pops into my head. Or I'll hear a song on the radio later and think, "oh that's sooooo Becky & Dustin". Well as I was editing these photos Jack Johnson's "Better Together" came to my mind. Becky & Dustin are just plain better together.

And since they are just better together I kept having them kissing over and over. They were just so in sync that way I suppose.

 

Thanks Becky for keeping that baby in there until I could get these edited. :) And of course thanks for sharing your time with me in the weeks before you become a family of three. I can't wait to meet your little guy. Maybe I'll dig up that old Kodak disk camera of mine. :)
