Julie's boudoir session

I don't post a lot of boudoir photos and honestly I haven't photographed a boudoir session in months and months. So I'm thrilled that a) Julie had no problem with me posting some of her awesome photos of her gorgeous self and 2) that I'm back to boudoir sessions. I totally forgot how fun they are!

I take zero credit for the creative ideas behind these photos. Julie - a former bride of mine - knows her husband well and incorporated his love for music. I was thrilled we were able to execute what she had in mind and had fun doing it. Rock-n-roll!

Julie's husband is a fan of Pink Floyd and we re-created a portion of a poster of ladies with the different Pink Floyd albums painted on their backs. Julie enlisted the help of her sister who just so happens to be an art teacher. Voila! - Dark side of the Moon ...

Boat boudoir

What?! Yep, you read that right. One of my dear clients Christine is getting married this fall. She contacted me to ask about doing a boudoir session for her fiance Brett as a gift to him for the wedding. Well of course! She then proceeded to tell me she thought Brett would love to see photos of her decked out in swimwear on their boat where they spend many a weekend on the river.

Okay, I have to admit the first thing I envisioned was my pregnant butt swaying back and forth on a little fishing boat trying to get photos of Christine posing with a fishing net. Soon I'd be throwing up over the side or my camera would take a dive into the water thanks to a giant Asian carp jumping up at me. Not ideal.

Thankfully Christine set me straight and even sent me a picture of the boat. "Ohhhhhh" I said to my computer when I got the emailed photo. Lightbulbs went flying out of my head after I saw the picture. This was going to be fun.

During the shoot Christine let me know that Brett was a bit of a cheeseball, so we turned it up a notch. I instantly thought of the motorcycle magazines Alex has gotten over the years with a chickadee leaning over a bike - just had to translate that to the boat. That big boat:

The color of Christine's eyes and water was a'poppin'!

 

I liked this one because it just shows you who's in charge of that boat! Which by the way, I can not begin to tell you how impressed I was with Christine's driving/steering/or whatever you call it skills. She even got that baby on the beach.

 

 

I tried to add a little more cheese factor for Brett's sake, but I think it just turned out hot. Perfect timing at sunset. I was thinking ahead when we set the date and time. :)

 

And one more fun one once we hit the beach.

 

Thanks Christine for opening my mind to your idea ... and also for introducing me to Asian carp. This was certainly an experience I won't soon forget. I can't wait to hear how Brett reacts and of course the wedding!
