I remember when I met this family about 3 years ago. Little Kennedy, who was born a mere 1 lb 3 oz, was hard to forget. Well guess who's turning 5? Yep, that little miracle. But there was another bonus this time around as they had added a little fella to the mix - Connor! Oh how he just rounds out their family in so many ways.
Jill & Bryan, it has been great seeing how your family has grown in the past 3 years. I wish you so many more years of joy and laughter. No doubt Kennedy and Connor will deliver.

Remember my friend Lauren, her husband John and 1 year old Jack? Well Jack is now 2. That means photoshoot time!
When I chatted with Lauren ahead of time, she told me she didn't think Jack was going to cooperate this year as he's now "at that age". To tell you the truth, I secretly love hearing these words from parents. To me that means that their kid is going to be themselves. Show his personality. Give me the good stuff! :)
So here's "non-cooperative" Jack with his fun parents who really are just the coolest people.
You're not going to make me put down this stick, are you?
Thanks Lauren, John and Jack for showing up with your personalities. Lauren & John, your little guy really brings out the best in you. :)

Remember this sweetie? Those beautiful blue eyes are hard to forget. And the outfits - oh the outfits! A few months later I got together with her family again to catch up with the blue-eyed girl and her ever-expanding wardrobe.
A little cowgirl hat goes a long way ...
A little game of peek-a-boo helps a gal get warmed up.
Mama :)
Oh, just one more change! Adorable.
Madelyn got a little tired towards the end there since it's oh-so-tough being a fashionista. But Dad was there to scoop her up and make it all okay.
Thank you guys for another fun session. Best wishes on your next adventure out west. I think Madelyn's going to need a few new outfits for the climate change. :) Enjoy!

Reception: The Schlafly Tap Room
Slideshow: Click here!
Becky & Josh were married on the beaches of Sanibel Island, Florida surrounded by a group of their closest family friends. They decided not to let that party end by having a reception back home here in St. Louis. Fabulous idea - they got to do a lot of things twice! Like getting all gussied up ...
Unfortunately Becky's mom was a bit under the weather on her daughter's wedding day in Florida, so there weren't pictures of her helping her put on her dress. So we made sure to capture those moments the day of their reception. And Becky's mom was just beaming. Becky was obviously not the only one who had dreamed about her wedding day.
The day of their reception was a complete rainy washout and downtown St. Louis was a flurry of activity with the Cardinals/Cubs game, Blues Game, and marathon activities going on. As luck would have it, the rain and the people all cleared out just in time for us. We started outside the Schlafly Tap Room where their party was to start in a couple of hours.
FAVE! Josh is an old co-worker from my corporate days and it while it was nice catching up with him, it really was a joy to get to know his new wife. They are really perfectly matched and their love for each other is so evident.
And she has other cool people who adore her too. :)
We headed down to Busch Stadium after the game cleared out. We only encountered a few stray sad Cubs fans :) and Cards fans who didn't want the party to end.
Back to the Tap Room to start the festivities!
Fun details. They brought some of Florida back home and included some new details too.
First Dance :)
Thank you Becky & Josh for extending the party and including me in your day. May the party for you two never end! :)

I just love every little thing about a newborn session ...
All the nursery details that Mom (Jackie) and Dad (Adam) spent months deciding on.
Okay, maybe not ALL the details. Being a Mizzou grad, this was hard to photograph. Oh what I won't do for my clients!
I love the moments in between where the parents are gently taking care of their little one - not wanting to make their sweetie cry.
All of those sweet, sweet baby moments. Where you hold your breath while you watch her breathe.
I also love what the parents come up with for baby outfits - especially baby girls.
But you don't necessarily need to get all gussied up to be beautiful. I love winding down the session with a sweet, peaceful naked little baby.
Thank you Jackie & Adam for sharing your little beauty with me. I loved every part of it. :)
